Bitcoin's one-year realized volatility dropped to 43 percent, placing price fluctuations within the range seen across S&P 500 stocks, according to an analysis released by Grayscale on October 15, 2026. The level marks a decline from 81 percent five years prior and sits beneath the ten-year historical average of 64 percent.

The report noted that Bitcoin's realized volatility was lower than that of 19 percent of equities in the S&P 500 index over the analyzed period. Grayscale attributed this stabilization to structural developments, including deeper market liquidity, increased institutional engagement, and the launch of spot exchange-traded funds.

The findings were published as Bitcoin traded around $82,285 following a temporary dip toward $80,000 triggered by September consumer price index data. Grayscale noted that while position-sizing techniques used for equities could apply to Bitcoin, a single year of observation does not capture performance across complete market cycles.

These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
