Grayscale Highlights Generation Z Investment Horizon for Crypto Allocation
A research report by Grayscale suggests younger investors have longer timeframes that could support holding volatile digital assets.
American Generation Z investors began investing at an average age of 19, according to a research note by Grayscale's head of research, Zach Pandl. The report draws on Charles Schwab's 2024 Modern Wealth Survey, which surveyed 1,000 Americans aged 21 to 75 alongside an additional sample of 200 Generation Z respondents.
The data indicates that Generation Z entered the market significantly earlier than prior generations, where millennials started at an average age of 25, Generation X at 32, and baby boomers at 35. Assuming a retirement age of 65, Generation Z holds an investment horizon of 46 years, compared to 40 years for millennials, 33 for Generation X, and 30 for baby boomers.
Grayscale argues that this extended 46-year horizon may allow younger investors to absorb the volatility associated with digital assets such as Bitcoin, which had dropped nearly a third from its October 2025 record high. The Schwab survey also noted that 71% of surveyed Generation Z members expressed confidence in their investment strategies, citing early financial education and easier market access.
These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
