Vitalik Buterin Highlights AI Agents as Emerging Interfaces for Ethereum

The Ethereum co-founder described automating his ENS updates via a local artificial intelligence model and outlined how AI interfaces could evolve over the next two years.

Speaking at the OKX NOW conference in Singapore on October 6, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin revealed that he updated his Ethereum Name Service records without using a standard web interface. A local artificial intelligence agent generated the script and executed the changes in approximately five minutes, illustrating his view that AI will increasingly act as the primary user interface for blockchains.

Buterin outlined a two-year outlook in which network transaction volume expands alongside lower fees and enhanced privacy. He observed that automated bots already account for a significant share of on-chain counterparties and expected AI intermediaries to handle blockchain interactions directly on behalf of users rather than requiring manual navigation.

The presentation also addressed security challenges tied to AI-driven blockchain interactions, such as prompt injection attacks. Buterin pointed to emerging safeguards, including the ERC-8004 standard, while clarifying that his comments were not a prediction that applications would vanish entirely.

These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
