Ethereum Economic Zone Completes Test of Atomic Layer-1 to Layer-2 Transaction
Developers have demonstrated a direct cross-chain transaction between Ethereum mainnet and a rollup without relying on standard cross-chain bridges.
The Ethereum Economic Zone has tested an atomic transaction between the Ethereum mainnet and a layer-2 network, according to project contributor Eduardo Antuña Díez. The test execution recorded a cross-chain transfer carrying 0.001 Ether alongside a state update for a rollup network.
Atomic transactions require that all linked actions across networks succeed completely or revert entirely in the event of a failure. Originally introduced in March, the framework is designed to allow rollups and the Ethereum mainnet to interact within a single transaction without third-party bridges, addressing the liquidity fragmentation highlighted by Gnosis co-founder Friederike Ernst.
Decentralized finance developers noted the potential significance of the trial, with Hydration co-founder Jakub Gregus describing the cross-chain architecture as an important milestone for the broader Ethereum ecosystem.
These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
