XRP Ledger DeFi reaches 181 million dollars as Solana maintains wider lead

A proposed lending amendment and asset growth on the XRP Ledger highlight the continuing gap between the two networks' decentralised finance ecosystems.

· +1

The XRP Ledger ecosystem is evaluating an update to incorporate native lending capabilities directly into its core protocol, even as its decentralised finance footprint remains significantly smaller than Solana's. Total value locked across XRPL DeFi stands at $181 million, compared to approximately $6.7 billion deposited across applications on Solana.

The proposed Lending Protocol V1.1, packaged in version 3.4.0 of the XRPL software, is currently undergoing a validator vote requiring at least 80% support over two weeks to activate. The upgrade introduces built-in lending logic at the base layer through fixed-term vaults and cash-basis accounting, bypassing the need for separate smart contracts.

Growth on the XRP Ledger has been driven largely by Doppler Finance, a CeDeFi platform holding roughly $136 million in deposits after a 14% increase over the past month. The remaining XRPL DeFi volume includes roughly $40 million on its native decentralized exchange, while XRP traded at approximately $1.52 as of October 2, 2026.

These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
