Onchain analyst James Check, founder of Checkonchain, stated that Bitcoin may have already established its cycle low around $58,000 after undergoing two separate capitulation phases. The assessment challenges market expectations of a bottom in October 2026, such as cycle-duration and midterm-election forecasts previously outlined by analyst Benjamin Cowen.

Speaking on Cointelegraph’s Proof of Thesis, Check characterized Bitcoin’s February pullback toward $60,000 as a price-driven capitulation from top buyers, followed by a time-based capitulation near $58,000 across June and July after months of stagnant trading. He noted that roughly $300 billion in Bitcoin cost basis became concentrated between $58,000 and $70,000, with approximately 4 million BTC returning to unrealized profit during the recovery toward $77,400.

Check added that long-term holders control about 80% of Bitcoin wealth and are more inclined to wait for higher price levels than exit prematurely. He also argued that strictly following the four-year cycle model is flawed, stating that the pattern has no mechanical mandate to repeat.

These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
