Google Quantum AI published findings in Science detailing a 40-fold reduction in errors on its Willow processor using magic state cultivation. The experiment produced quantum states with 99.99% logical fidelity, though repeated filtering resulted in an 8% yield. While larger-scale demonstrations remain necessary, the improvement addresses an operation that previously threatened to consume up to 95% of a quantum computer's processing power.

The technical advance has renewed discussions around cryptographic vulnerabilities across distributed ledgers.
