XRP Ledger validators vote on native lending amendment as Doppler deposits rise
The network considers integrating base-layer lending features as its largest protocol crosses 130 million dollars in total value.
Validators on the XRP Ledger are voting on a proposed software update, Lending Protocol V1.1, that would embed lending functionality directly into the blockchain's base code. To become active, the amendment requires the continuous approval of at least 80% of trusted validators over a two-week period.
Unlike platforms that rely on individual smart contracts, the XRPL implementation incorporates native rules for closed-ended vaults that collect funds for fixed subscription terms and disburse interest on a cash-accounting basis. This setup allows applications to execute lending operations without deploying standalone contract code.
The governance vote coincides with growth at Doppler Finance, the network's largest protocol, which holds approximately $136 million in deposits—representing the vast majority of the $181 million locked across XRPL DeFi. As of October 2, 2026, XRP traded near $1.52, remaining largely unaffected by the DeFi milestone.
These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
