Standard Chartered Launches Institutional Bitcoin and Ether Spot Trading in the UAE
Standard Chartered has introduced deliverable spot trading in Bitcoin and Ether for institutional clients in the United Arab Emirates.
Standard Chartered has rolled out spot trading for Bitcoin and Ether to institutional clients in the United Arab Emirates. The service operates out of the Dubai International Financial Centre under the regulatory oversight of the Dubai Financial Services Authority. With this launch, the British bank becomes the first global systemically important bank to offer institutional spot digital asset trading in the country.
The offering covers deliverable spot transactions for BTC/USD and ETH/USD trading pairs rather than cash-settled derivatives, ensuring physical delivery of the purchased assets. Qualified institutional clients can place orders directly through the bank's existing electronic foreign exchange trading interfaces.
Trade execution and custody remain segregated under the framework. Clients are permitted to store their digital assets with a custodian of their choice, including the digital asset custody service launched by Standard Chartered in the UAE in September 2024.
These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
