Solana Closes Performance Gap with Faster Execution as Valuation Trails Ethereum
Solana trades at a fifth of Ethereum's market cap despite lower transaction fees, faster finality, and stronger 90-day price appreciation.
Solana's market capitalization stood at $61.7 billion as of late October 2026, lagging behind Ethereum's $293.5 billion valuation despite offering faster settlement speeds and reduced transaction costs. Following its Alpenglow upgrade, Solana reduced transaction finalization times to 150 milliseconds.
Over the past 90 days, SOL climbed 45 percent to reach $105, outpacing ETH's 33 percent increase over the same window. The network continues to attract heavy activity in low-cost transfers, active token trading, and memecoins.
Despite Solana's operational speed advantages, Ethereum commands a multiple close to five times its market value. Market participants continue to price Ethereum higher based on its role hosting tokenized traditional assets and institutional banking initiatives, such as deposit token deployments by JPMorgan Chase.
These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
