Ripple Unlocks One Billion XRP in Scheduled Escrow Release
Ripple has conducted its regular monthly unlock of one billion XRP tokens, leaving approximately 31.14 billion XRP remaining in its ledger escrow.
Ripple released one billion XRP from escrow accounts across three separate transactions of 500 million, 400 million, and 100 million tokens, according to data from Whale Alert. The scheduled transfer lowered the amount of XRP held in Ripple's on-chain escrow to roughly 31.14 billion, or about 31.28% of the token's total 100 billion maximum supply.
The initial escrow system was established in 2017 with 55 billion XRP to regulate supply releases on the first of each month. In practice, the company has historically returned a substantial share of unused tokens back to escrow, resulting in actual market circulation that is considerably smaller than the unlocked total.
Market data shows XRP was trading near $1.36 following an 8.20% weekly decline, despite remaining up 30.8% over the past month. Derivatives liquidations totalled more than $3.32 million over 24 hours, with long positions accounting for $2.13 million and short positions making up $1.19 million.
These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
