FTX and Alameda Wallets Transfer $75 Million in Ether to Wintermute

On-chain trackers have spotted tens of thousands of Ether moving from bankruptcy-linked wallets to a major market maker.

Addresses associated with FTX and Alameda Research transferred 27,372 ETH, valued at roughly $75 million, to market maker Wintermute. On-chain analyst EmberCN identified the transfers across six wallets, while security firm PeckShield highlighted the single largest transaction. No sale has been officially confirmed, and the precise objective of the transfer remains unstated.

The wallets involved have been managed by restructuring teams since the exchange collapsed in November 2022, before transferring to the FTX Recovery Trust. Founded in London in 2017 by Evgeny Gaevoy, Wintermute operates an over-the-counter desk that routinely handles large crypto transactions off public order books to limit market impact. The most probable hypothesis raised is a conversion into fiat or stablecoins to support creditor reimbursements.

The FTX Recovery Trust completed its fifth distribution at the end of July 2026, nearing $10 billion returned to claimants. Creditor claims remain pegged to November 2022 prices, valuing an ETH deposit at around $1,260 compared to market rates near $2,750. Bankruptcy Judge John Dorsey previously granted FTX authorization to liquidate crypto holdings and hedge positions in September 2023.

These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
