Hargreaves Lansdown Introduces Bitcoin and Ethereum ETNs for UK Advanced Investors
The UK investment platform has added nine crypto exchange-traded notes under strict eligibility criteria and designated account structures.
Hargreaves Lansdown began offering nine Bitcoin and Ethereum exchange-traded notes to eligible UK clients on September 3, 2026. The products are available exclusively through the platform's Advanced Investing service, featuring notes issued by iShares, WisdomTree, 21Shares, Invesco, CoinShares, and Bitwise, with annual management charges ranging from 0% to 0.35%.
Access to the instruments is restricted compared to standard listed securities. UK-domiciled clients must self-certify as advanced investors, complete an appropriateness assessment, and observe a mandatory 24-hour cooling-off period before placing trades.
Under the brokerage's terms, the ETNs can be held within a Self-Invested Personal Pension or a Fund and Share Account. However, the notes are not eligible for inclusion in standard Stocks and Shares ISA accounts. The launch follows regulatory changes from the Financial Conduct Authority reopening retail access to crypto-linked notes.
These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
