MetaMask Launches Agent Wallet Letting AI Trade Crypto Autonomously
MetaMask rolled out Agent Wallet, enabling AI agents to execute trades within user-defined limits across multiple blockchains.
MetaMask launched Agent Wallet on Thursday, a self-custodial wallet that allows AI agents to trade cryptocurrency independently within constraints set by users. The tool enables agents to execute swaps, perpetual trades, prediction-market bets, and staking across Ethereum-compatible chains and Hyperliquid.
Users can select between two operational modes: "Guard Mode" for cautious trading and "Beast Mode" for unrestricted activity. All transactions undergo simulation, threat scanning, and MEV protection, with eligible trades receiving up to $10,000 monthly in loss coverage. The wallet integrates with developer tools including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and OpenClaw, and handles gas fees by settling them in the token being transacted, eliminating the need for agents to hold native chain coins. No token was issued for the product.
MetaMask is not the first to enter this space. Coinbase launched agentic wallets in February, and MoonPay has been developing similar functionality since spring. However, MetaMask commands roughly a quarter of the wallet market. The underlying question remains whether traders will genuinely entrust autonomous software with real capital. According to the piece, meaningful adoption likely remains more than a year away, though infrastructure development is accelerating as agentic trading becomes an anticipated direction for onchain activity.
These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
