Chainlink Secures Spot in New CME Emerging Crypto Index
Chainlink has been included in a newly launched CME Group benchmark alongside nine other tokens, meeting institutional custody and network utility criteria.
Chainlink has been selected as one of ten constituents in the CME CF Emerging Crypto Index, launched at the end of August 2026 by CME Group and CF Benchmarks. The token earned a spot despite having a lower market valuation of $9.97 billion and lower daily trading volume of $404 million compared to Dogecoin, which stands at $13.2 billion and $780 million respectively.
The index is designed to support institutional derivatives and basket products, grouping major tokens outside of Bitcoin and Ethereum. Alongside Chainlink, the basket features BNB, XRP, Solana, Hyperliquid, Stellar, Sui, Uniswap, Avalanche, and Aave. CF Benchmarks indicated that the four largest assets account for the majority of the weighting, leaving a combined 7.3 percent allocation to the remaining six tokens, including Chainlink.
Chainlink met eligibility criteria that disqualified larger assets, notably standards requiring network application value, institutional custody support, and the explicit exclusion of memecoins. The index operates on free-float market capitalisation weighting with bi-annual rebalancing scheduled for June and December.
These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
