Social media platform X filed a lawsuit in London's High Court on September 17 against Vivek Kumar Sen, Zamyang Sherpa, and several unnamed parties. The lawsuit alleges that the defendants operated a bot network designed to generate fraudulent engagement on Bitcoin-related posts to exploit the platform's Creator Revenue Sharing Program.
According to the filing, the scheme extracted at least £207,384, or approximately $278,000, between 2023 and 2026. The complaint states that six primary accounts, including @Vivek4real_, @saylordocs, and @TrendingBitcoin, along with at least three booster accounts, coordinated to post duplicate or near-identical cryptocurrency commentary and charts within seconds of each other while cross-liking posts to simulate authentic engagement.
X general counsel James Burnham confirmed the legal action, stating the company is taking steps against fraudulent monetization. The lawsuit also alleges the defendants routed payouts through Stripe accounts with mismatched names. The Creator Revenue Sharing Program was terminated on September 7, 2026, and replaced by a system that excludes artificial engagement.
