Bottomline Integrates Chainlink Technology to Connect Banks With Onchain Payment Rails
Payment provider Bottomline has rolled out Global Pay Connect, leveraging Chainlink infrastructure to link over 600 financial institutions to blockchain networks.
Swift service provider Bottomline, which processes over $16 trillion in payment volume each year, launched its Global Pay Connect platform on September 17, 2026. The new service utilizes Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol and Runtime Environment to orchestrate transactions across onchain networks and legacy banking systems.
The deployment allows more than 600 banking institutions to connect to blockchain settlement infrastructure without replacing their underlying IT setups. Research conducted by Bottomline indicates that 40% of chief financial officers consider outdated infrastructure the primary obstacle to real-time payment implementation, with only 28% characterizing their software architecture as modern and API-ready.
Global Pay Connect unites multiple global and domestic payment networks, such as Swift, SEPA, SIC, Bacs, CHAPS, CHIPS, Lynx, and EBICS, alongside direct host-to-host links. The platform also incorporates ISO 20022 messaging transformation, a dedicated Message Vault for record retention, and operational visibility features supported by artificial intelligence.
These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
