Liquid Network Attackers Return 3,400 Bitcoin Following Node Patch Notification
Perpetrators behind a 4,000-bitcoin breach on the Liquid Network have returned the majority of the assets after receiving an on-chain message from Blockstream.
Actors responsible for unauthorized withdrawals from the Liquid Network have returned 3,400 BTC, valued at approximately $269.2 million, to the sidechain's federation wallet. The transfer recovered roughly 85% of the total 4,000 BTC removed during the incident.
The return occurred after Blockstream sent an on-chain signed message confirming that Liquid's bridge nodes had been patched. The security event initially unfolded when a user transferred 4,000 L-BTC to SideSwap's peg-out service.
Approximately 598.5 BTC, worth around $47 million, remains unreturned in an address tied to the withdrawal. Liquid Network has not yet specified when normal platform operations will restart.
These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
