Sberbank to Integrate Ethereum and Major Cryptos into Banking Apps Following Central Bank Clearance
Russian banking giant Sberbank is preparing to launch Ethereum and digital asset services to over 110 million clients from December 1.
Russia's central bank has cleared Sberbank to operate as both a digital currency depository and an exchange operator, enabling the institution to process and record transactions internally. Following the October 12 decision, the lender announced plans to introduce trading and custody for Ethereum, Bitcoin, and USDT across its primary digital applications on December 1.
The bank noted that the target launch date remains subject to the timely completion of secondary regulatory frameworks by the central bank. If implemented, digital asset services would reach Sberbank's client base of 110.6 million retail customers and 3.5 million commercial accounts via SberBank Online, SberInvestments, and SberBusiness interfaces.
Regulatory restrictions remain in place, including an annual retail purchase limit of 300,000 rubles per intermediary and required qualification testing, alongside a ban on commercial payments. Sberbank also plans to accept Ethereum and USDT as loan collateral once official circulation permissions are granted.
These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
