Bitcoin Approaches First Positive Quarter in a Year Following 39% Third-Quarter Rally
Trading near $81,200 in late September, Bitcoin holds a substantial lead over its June 30 close as it nears its first quarterly gain since the third quarter of 2025.
Bitcoin stood at $81,214 on September 19, placing it approximately 39% above its second-quarter close of $58,524 on June 30. If it maintains a level above that benchmark through September 30, it will log its first positive quarter since the third quarter of 2025, halting a three-quarter sequence of declines that began after its peak of $126,198 on October 6, 2025.
Despite the quarterly surge, Bitcoin remains down 7.18% year to date compared to its 2025 year-end close of $87,498. The third quarter started with subdued activity, as July ended at $62,826, before an August rally lifted the asset above $81,000 on high trading volumes.
Following a brief drop to $74,888 on September 15, the asset recovered past $80,000 by September 18, gaining 5.11% across the week. For the quarter to finish negative, the price would need to decline roughly 28% over the remaining 11 days, a scale of drawdown observed only once earlier in the year between January 20 and February 5.
These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
