Revolut Hands Bitcoin Records and Customer Data to Fraudulent Government Request

London-based digital bank Revolut sent customer files, including Bitcoin transaction histories and passport copies, to an impersonator using a spoofed domain.

· -3

London-based digital bank Revolut transferred sensitive customer records to an attacker impersonating a government agency, following a fraudulent data request sent from a spoofed email domain. The incident was disclosed by on-chain investigator ZachXBT, and Revolut has since issued security notices to the impacted clients.

The released information included passport and driver's license scans, Know Your Customer (KYC) selfies, account statements, IBANs, withdrawal histories, and Bitcoin transaction logs. The fraudulent inquiry mimicked standard law enforcement formats and targeted specific individuals.

According to the report, Revolut's internal technical systems were not compromised and no customer funds were stolen. Instead, the incident stemmed from an authentication failure during the compliance verification process, where staff or automated checks improperly evaluated the legitimacy of the sender.

These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
