Ethereum Sets Glamsterdam Sepolia Testnet Date for October 6 Ahead of Mainnet Release
Developers have scheduled the Glamsterdam hard fork on the Sepolia testnet for October 6, 2026, while client teams continue preparing software releases.
Ethereum developers have scheduled the Glamsterdam upgrade to activate on the Sepolia test network on October 6, 2026, at 13:53 UTC (epoch 351232), following an agreement reached during the 186th consensus layer developer call on September 3.
The Glamsterdam hard fork combines protocol adjustments across both the consensus layer, known as Gloas, and the execution layer, known as Amsterdam. Because hard forks introduce incompatible rule changes, node operators and stakers must eventually update their software to remain on the network. However, a review of ten major Ethereum clients on September 11, 2026, found that none currently offer a stable release containing the upgrade, with development still confined to pre-releases and nightly test builds.
Sepolia serves as a testing environment using test tokens to identify software issues before changes reach the live network. While the Ethereum Foundation roadmap lists the mainnet rollout for an unconfirmed window in the fourth quarter of 2026, including discussions around a potential December target, no firm mainnet date has been established.
These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
