X Tests Trade Buttons on Crypto Charts in Posts

X is testing interactive trade buttons embedded directly in cryptocurrency price charts, though transactions would route to external platforms.

X is exploring the addition of trade buttons to cryptocurrency charts displayed within posts, according to Nikita Bier, the platform's former product head. The feature remains in testing with no confirmed launch date.

The buttons would potentially support multiple assets including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, Zcash and Stellar, building on X's existing Smart Cashtags feature that Bier originally developed to bring crypto tools to the platform. Bier departed from his 13-month tenure leading X's product team on August 5 and has transitioned to an advisory role.

Uncertainty surrounds the mechanics of the trading functionality. While Bier initially suggested users could trade directly from their timeline, he later clarified that X itself would not process trades or act as a broker. Instead, the buttons would likely redirect users to external platforms to complete transactions—a model already in use with Wealthsimple in Canada.

The exact list of supported blockchains remains undefined. Bier referenced Solana and Ethereum, while Solana previously indicated the feature would support Solana tokens through partners including Dialect, Helius, Jupiter and Birdeye.

The crypto initiative aligns with X's broader expansion of X Money, its payments system launched to U.S. Premium users on July 27. X Money currently offers features such as 6% APY, 3% cashback, a Visa card and up to $10 million in FDIC coverage through Cross River's banking services. Notably, X Money's product page does not currently list crypto, Bitcoin, trading or brokerage services.

Site call on Ethereum Buy score 56.7

These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
