Ripple Integrates XRP Ledger Into Stripe and Tempo AI Agent Payment Flow
Ripple has added support for autonomous machine-to-machine payment protocols, running transaction streaming sessions on XRP rather than RLUSD.
Ripple has connected the XRP Ledger to automated AI agent payment systems through protocols co-authored by Stripe and Tempo, a payments-focused blockchain that launched its mainnet in March. The setup allows software agents to independently request service quotes and settle transactions without manual human input. The streaming component of these sessions relies on XRP because the RLUSD stablecoin cannot yet support that function.
The integration was introduced through version 1.1 of the XRPL AI Starter Kit, which adds compatibility with the Machine Payments Protocol (MPP) and the Open Wallet Standard. Utilizing the XRP Ledger 3.3.0 Permission Delegation feature, these tools enable autonomous software to execute transactions under predefined spending caps and authorized destinations without exposing a wallet's primary private keys.
Ripple is supporting multiple standards across the agent commerce ecosystem, incorporating both MPP and the x402 protocol backed by Coinbase, Stripe, and Cloudflare. The x402 standard has processed between 75 million and 120 million automated payments in recent months. In addition to joining the x402 Foundation alongside firms like AWS, Google, and Mastercard, Ripple is serving as a launch partner for Mastercard's Agent Pay for Machines.
These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
