Chainlink Enables Financial Institutions to Access Swift Ledger for Tokenized Deposits
A new integration allows banks to connect their transaction-signing systems to Swift's blockchain ledger while retaining control of private keys.
Chainlink announced on September 28 that financial institutions can now link their internal infrastructure and transaction-signing systems to Swift's blockchain ledger. The integration uses the Chainlink Runtime Environment (CRE) to coordinate data workflows between proprietary bank ledgers and Swift's platform, specifically targeting the management of tokenized bank deposits.
Under this operational model, participating banks retain exclusive custody of the cryptographic keys required to authorize transactions. The arrangement is designed as a workflow coordination layer rather than a shared deposit pool, ensuring that assets remain recorded directly as bank liabilities on the institutions' internal systems.
Swift's blockchain ledger, initially introduced for operational readiness in July, is structured to coordinate cross-border payment workflows on a continuous basis. The ledger itself does not execute automated final settlement; transfers still settle through existing external infrastructure, such as real-time gross settlement systems established by the participating parties.
These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
