Hargreaves Lansdown Adds Ethereum and Bitcoin ETNs Under UK Advanced Investing Rules

UK retail platform Hargreaves Lansdown has launched nine crypto exchange-traded notes accessible through specialized account requirements.

· +5

On September 3, 2026, Hargreaves Lansdown expanded its product catalogue by introducing nine exchange-traded notes tied to Ethereum and Bitcoin. Sourced from issuers including Bitwise, CoinShares, Invesco, 21Shares, WisdomTree, and iShares, the notes carry annual product fees spanning from 0% to 0.35%.

Trading is routed exclusively through the firm's Advanced Investing category rather than conventional retail accounts. To qualify for access, UK clients are required to complete an appropriateness test, self-certify as advanced investors, and undergo a 24-hour cooling-off period.

The investment platform allows the notes to be held in Fund and Share Accounts or Self-Invested Personal Pensions, while explicitly excluding them from Stocks and Shares ISAs. The rollout comes following updated Financial Conduct Authority rules governing retail access to crypto-backed notes.

These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
