Prediction platform Kalshi has denied claims of wash trading and stated it has received no contact from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission regarding its Ether perpetual futures markets. The response follows a Wall Street Journal report indicating regulatory scrutiny over approximately $5 billion in Ether perpetual volume consisting of repeated transactions around $5,500 over the past month.

According to the Journal, the trading volume was accompanied by incentive arrangements, including fee waivers, monthly cash payments, and potential equity allocations for traders meeting specific volume targets. Kalshi, which launched perpetual futures in May and reported exceeding $1 billion in volume within a week, disputed allegations of improper trading activity.

Kalshi head of communications Elisabeth Diana dismissed the reports as unverified rumors from competitors. In a company statement, Kalshi clarified that the clustering of trade sizes resulted from liquidity programs designed to compensate market makers for maintaining order book depth and spread availability rather than executing raw trading volume.

These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
