Ethereum Reserves on Centralised Exchanges Drop to Multi-Year Lows
Data shows exchange balances of Ethereum fell sharply over recent months, including a 430,000 ETH reduction on Binance.
Ethereum traded at $2,412.07 as overall balances held on centralized exchanges reached multi-year lows. CryptoQuant data analyzed by Finbold indicates that the 30-day average of Ethereum on exchanges declined by 30.21 percent between July 18, 2025, and October 9, falling from over 21.12 million ETH to approximately 14.74 million ETH, representing an outflow worth roughly $15.4 billion.
The trend is visible at Binance, where exchange balances dropped from 3.90 million to 3.47 million ETH between August 25 and October 16, according to an analysis by CryptoQuant contributor Amr Taha. This 430,000 ETH decrease represents an 11 percent decline over 52 days and equates to about $1.04 billion.
While falling reserves indicate assets moving into self-custody, staking, or longer-term holdings, the report notes that reduced exchange supply does not automatically translate to higher prices if buying activity fails to match the outflow. The $1.04 billion reduction on Binance is also contextualized against daily trading volumes of $12.68 billion.
These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
