Interactive Brokers Introduces Ethereum Staking for US Clients

Eligible American users can now stake Ether through Interactive Brokers in a partnership with crypto infrastructure provider Zerohash.

Interactive Brokers rolled out Ethereum staking on October 13, 2026, marking the brokerage's first entry into proof-of-stake rewards for eligible U.S. customers. The service lets investors lock up their Ether to validate transactions in exchange for network rewards, an option unavailable on Bitcoin's network. The move comes as Bitcoin outperformed Ether over the previous 30-day period, trading at $82,306 with an 8.4% gain on October 15, compared with Ether's 2.1% rise to $2,451.

The staking infrastructure is managed by Zerohash, a firm in which Interactive Brokers holds an equity stake following a lead role in its $104 million funding round in 2025. Zerohash assigns customer funds to validators and holds the assets in segregated accounts under client names. Staking fees between the two companies are capped at 30% of total generated rewards, though the platform did not disclose specific reward rates, withdrawal periods, or minimum staking thresholds.

The service carries notable regulatory and operational caveats. Staked balances held with Zerohash are not covered by the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC). In addition, customers face potential slashing penalties if designated validators fail to perform network duties, alongside potential withdrawal delays.

These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
