Ethereum Exchange Reserves Drop to Multi-Year Low Led by Binance Outflows
Total Ether balances held across crypto exchanges have fallen over 30% since July 2025, driven by continuous institutional accumulation and self-custody shifts.
Ethereum reserves across centralized cryptocurrency exchanges have declined to a multi-year low, according to CryptoQuant data analyzed by Finbold. The 30-day simple moving average of exchange reserves stood at 14,742,387.9 ETH on Friday, down 30.21% from 21,124,548.6 ETH recorded on July 18, 2025.
The reduction in exchange-held supply has been heavily influenced by outflows on Binance, where ETH reserves fell 6.69% from August 1, 2026, reaching 3,574,345.43 ETH. The broader decrease in available exchange supply is often linked to investors shifting funds into self-custody.
The shift comes alongside significant institutional flows, with BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) accumulating roughly $2.468 billion in net inflows over the past four months, based on SoSoValue data. Despite a weekly dip of more than 7% leading up to October 9, ETH traded around $2,490.91 at publication time, reflecting a roughly 14% gain over recent months.
These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
