Symbiosis Recovers 15 BTC After Bridge Exploit as Native Routing Remains Halted

Cross-chain protocol Symbiosis has secured 15 BTC following an exploit on its native bridge, while partner swap routes have resumed and loss assessments continue.

Cross-chain protocol Symbiosis recovered approximately 15 BTC following a security breach on its native Bitcoin Bridge, transferring the retrieved assets into a team-controlled multisignature wallet. The protocol suffered an exploit at roughly 04:28 UTC on September 11, 2026, which prompted the immediate suspension of native Bitcoin routing.

According to blockchain analytics firm Blockaid, the vulnerability allowed the attacker to mint roughly 46.1 billion unbacked syBTC tokens. Blockaid estimated that the perpetrator subsequently converted approximately 4.39 WBTC into roughly $336,000 in proceeds, representing a significantly smaller sum than the theoretical value of the minted tokens. Symbiosis has noted that comprehensive loss calculations remain incomplete, and a compensation structure for affected liquidity providers has yet to be finalized.

In response to the incident, the protocol offered a 20% bounty to the exploiter through September 13, subsequently extending the same reward to individuals providing information that leads to further asset recoveries. While Bitcoin swaps through third-party integrations such as Chainflip and THORChain resumed over September 13–14, the native bridge introduced in September 2024 remains paused pending further review.

These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
