Kalshi Prediction Markets Assign 83% Probability of Bitcoin Reaching $100,000 Before $50,000

Prediction market data from Kalshi indicates traders strongly favor Bitcoin climbing to $100,000 before falling to $50,000, reversing earlier crash expectations from June.

On CFTC-regulated prediction platform Kalshi, contracts evaluating whether Bitcoin will reach $50,000 or $100,000 first priced the recovery scenario at 83% and the decline at 17% as of September 14. Additional markets assign a 7% chance of Bitcoin touching $100,000 before October, 22% before December, and 29% before January 2027, with a year-end closing price consensus of roughly $81,000 across $35 million in open interest.

This distribution represents a sharp reversal from earlier in the year. In June, when Bitcoin traded near $58,000, the probability of hitting $50,000 first stood at 57%. That likelihood dropped to 53% in early August and drifted lower as the price climbed away from its June 30 low of $58,524.

A move down to $50,000 would require a 33.9% drop from the current price of $75,600, breaching both the June low and the realized price of $53,600. Glassnode data notes that previous cycle bottoms saw 50% to 55% of the supply held at an unrealized loss, compared to only 39% to 43% recorded at the June 2026 low.
