Bermuda-based life insurer Meanwhile has secured $37.5 million from existing investors to expand its Bitcoin-denominated life insurance offerings amid growing international demand.
Bermuda-based life insurer Meanwhile has raised $37.5 million in a new funding round backed by existing investors, bringing its total capital raised to over $180 million. The company, which is licensed to operate entirely in Bitcoin and counts OpenAI chief executive Sam Altman among its backers, announced the raise on Thursday.
Bain Capital Crypto led the financing, which also included participation from Haun Ventures, Framework Ventures, Pantera Capital, Apollo, Northwestern Mutual Future Ventures, and Morgan Creek Digital. According to co-founder and chief executive Zac Townsend, the capital will help the firm meet rising demand from wealth managers and high-net-worth clients across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East looking for regulated wealth-transfer mechanisms.
Meanwhile introduced its BTC Life 1-Pay product in early 2026, offering single-premium whole life coverage for non-U.S. clients following the launch of its U.S.-focused BTC 10-Pay policy. The firm stated that net long-term underwriting income has already exceeded the prior year's total and is projected to more than double in 2026, though specific financial details were not disclosed.
These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
