XRP Holders Average 12% Loss Over Past Year Despite Recent Rebound
On-chain metrics indicate XRP holders over the past 12 months remain down roughly 12%, even as the token has recovered from July lows.
Analytics firm Santiment reports that the average XRP holder over the past year is nursing an unrealized loss of about 11.8%, based on its 365-day Market Value to Realized Value (MVRV) indicator. By comparison, holders of Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Chainlink are slightly in profit over the same timeframe. XRP was trading at $1.51 as of September 24, 2026, down about 17% year-to-date and 48% over the trailing 12 months.
The current metric represents a partial recovery from July, when XRP's 365-day MVRV touched a historic trough near -47% as the price dropped toward $1.14. A subsequent 32% price recovery has reduced holder losses, though the token remains roughly 36% below its January 6, 2026 high of $2.36 and has faced selling resistance around the $1.60 level.
Santiment highlights that on-chain MVRV figures capture only coins moved across addresses, meaning off-chain transactions on centralized exchanges are not reflected in the calculation.
These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
