BlackRock crypto portfolio gains $15.1 billion in August
The asset manager's holdings surged 28.3% in the month as Bitcoin and Ethereum rallied, with the iShares Bitcoin Trust accounting for most gains.
BlackRock's cryptocurrency portfolio grew by $15.11 billion during August, rising from $53.36 billion on August 1 to $68.48 billion by August 27, according to Arkham Intelligence data. The 28.3% monthly increase reflected broad strength in crypto markets led by Bitcoin and Ethereum.
The iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) contributed $12.66 billion of that gain, climbing from $47.69 billion to $60.35 billion. The gain tracked Bitcoin's 21.38% rally in August, rising roughly $13,793 per token from around $64,722 to over $79,515. BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) added $2.45 billion, benefiting from a 27.26% Ethereum advance in the same period.
