Crypto Liquidations Reach $547 Million as Bitcoin Moves Past $81,000

A rapid upward move in Bitcoin pushed the asset past $81,000, triggering $547 million in liquidations across cryptocurrency derivatives markets over a 24-hour period, according to CoinGlass data.
The liquidations fell predominantly on short positions, which accounted for $469.19 million of the total wiped out, compared to $57.10 million in long liquidations. In total, more than 107,000 individual traders were liquidated as Bitcoin traded near $81,030.
Bitcoin positions led the closures with $243.54 million in liquidations, followed by Ethereum with $95.66 million and Solana with $36.29 million. The single largest liquidation observed was an $8.53 million Bitcoin position executed on Hyperliquid.
