Bitcoin Long-Term Holders Show Accumulation Patterns Before Previous Market Rallies

The current accumulation phase has lasted 31 months, nearly twice as long as previous cycles, a delay attributed to U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF launches and sustained institutional buying.
Institutional demand remains robust. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $211.49 million in net inflows on August 4, with BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust holding $51.579 billion in Bitcoin. This continued capital deployment signals persistent large-investor interest despite prices trading sideways since June.
On-chain metrics add nuance to the narrative. Binance's whale inflow ratio has reached 0.52, a four-month high indicating elevated large-holder activity on the exchange. Historically, such spikes have appeared at both major corrections and important bottoms, making the indicator a caution signal rather than a definitive bearish confirmation.
