Cardano Network Activity Sets New High of 1.78 Million Transactions in Epoch 660
Cardano registered a record 1.78 million transactions over a single five-day epoch, surpassing its previous peak from late 2021 despite subdued token prices.
Between 6 and 11 October 2026, the Cardano blockchain processed 1,780,896 transactions during epoch 660, marking the highest volume in the network's history. This throughput exceeded the previous record of 1,566,974 transactions set in epoch 304 during November 2021 by roughly 13.7 percent. The total represents an 11.3-fold increase compared to epoch 659, which recorded 158,011 transactions, while preceding epochs generally fluctuated between 89,353 and 130,442 transactions.
The surge in on-chain activity was contained within 21,243 blocks, averaging 83.8 transactions per block. While some market commentary attributed the activity to governance voting around a proposal for a 75 ADA minimum stake pool fee, the proposal itself registered only 148 votes before lapsing, indicating that voting transactions alone do not explain the volume.
Unlike the 2021 record period, which occurred near Cardano's all-time peak of $3.09, the latest volume occurred with ADA trading around $0.2384, down approximately 5.3 percent over a 24-hour window and 92.3 percent below its historical high.
These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
