Bitcoin ETF Inflows Accelerate as New Wallet Creation Hits One-Year Peak
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $865.3 million in net inflows over five trading days, while on-chain metrics showed wallet creation at its highest level in twelve months.
Institutional demand for Bitcoin strengthened considerably during the week of August 3–7, with Farside Investors tracking approximately $865.3 million in net inflows across U.S. spot products. Daily flows peaked on August 5 at $244.4 million, following $170.1 million on August 3 and $211.5 million on August 4. The remaining two trading days saw $137.6 million and $101.7 million respectively.
CryptoQuant data highlighted concurrent institutional accumulation, with roughly 11,792 BTC moving into identified provider wallets—valued near $754 million and marking the second-largest weekly increase recorded in 2026. Despite the rebound, the institutional cohort holds substantial unrealized losses, with CryptoQuant contributors estimating an aggregate realized price near $72,000 per coin. At trading levels around $64,700, these positions sit approximately 10% underwater on average.
On-chain activity also accelerated sharply. Santiment Intelligence reported 2.27 million newly created wallets during the week, the highest weekly total in a year, though the increase partly reflected defensive transfers linked to the recent Coldcard security incident. Active wallets reached approximately 751,000, representing the strongest level recorded in recent data.
These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
