BlackRock Acquires Over $1.5 Billion in Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs Across Five Days
Inflows into BlackRock's spot crypto exchange-traded funds accelerated sharply, capturing more than $1.5 billion in five trading sessions.
BlackRock purchased $1.5104 billion worth of Bitcoin and Ethereum through its spot exchange-traded funds over five trading days between September 17 and September 24, 2026, according to SoSoValue data. The asset manager's accumulation occurred alongside a broader market cap increase of more than $260 billion across the digital asset sector.
The iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) accounted for the bulk of the buying, recording $1.190 billion in net cash inflows over seven days. This brought the fund's total Bitcoin holdings to approximately $67.25 billion. Across the wider market, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs accumulated $2.653 billion over the period, raising collective assets to $108.66 billion.
BlackRock's Ethereum-focused funds also saw significant activity. The iShares Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHA) registered $320.45 million in net purchases since the prior Thursday, lifting its net assets to $9.74 billion. Additionally, the iShares Staked Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHB) drew $15.64 million in inflows, reaching $1.15 billion in assets. In total, BlackRock's cryptocurrency ETF assets reached $78.14 billion, outpacing competing issuers as total U.S. spot Ether ETF assets rose to $17.5 billion.
