Avalanche Integrates with UAE Digital Identity and Targets South Korean Tokenization

Avalanche is expanding its institutional presence through public and financial sector initiatives in the United Arab Emirates and South Korea. In the UAE, the federal authority TDRA plans to transition the blockchain infrastructure of UAE PASS's Digital Vault to a dedicated Avalanche Layer 1 network. UAE PASS is a national digital identity platform that connects 12.5 million users to more than 15,000 services across 350 entities, though the report notes that this total figure represents the overall identity user base rather than active blockchain users, and that identity data itself is not stored on-chain.

The dedicated Avalanche L1 is designed to support the secure storage and sharing of verified official documents, allowing recipient institutions to verify authenticity and detect alterations under customizable access and configuration rules.

Separately, Avalanche has announced plans to participate in the tokenization of financial markets in South Korea, following the Financial Services Commission's regulatory roadmap for issuing and trading tokenized securities such as stocks, bonds, and funds. However, South Korean regulators have not officially confirmed the specific use of Avalanche's technology for these initiatives.
