US Spot Ethereum ETFs Record $366 Million in Outflows Across Two Days

Institutional fund redemptions contrasted with ongoing staking activity and declining exchange supplies among large holders.

Spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds in the United States recorded $366 million in total net outflows across two consecutive trading days. Data shows investors withdrew $141.47 million on September 15 and $224.11 million on September 16, with BlackRock accounting for $110.03 million of the second-day redemptions.

The withdrawals broke a four-week streak of net inflows and coincided with monetary tightening by the Federal Reserve, which raised interest rates to between 3.75% and 4.00% on September 16 as the 10-year Treasury yield reached 5.01%. Total ETF net assets declined by $1.26 billion to $15.16 billion, reflecting a combination of direct capital exits and broader market depreciation.

In contrast to the fund outflows, staking metrics expanded. Over one-third of the circulating Ethereum supply is currently locked in staking validators, which operate with multi-day to multi-week exit queues. Large entities including BitMine and SharpLink have committed 85% and nearly all of their respective holdings to staking, while total balances on exchanges dropped to multi-year lows.

These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
