Bitcoin Red Team, a security initiative led by figures including Rob Hamilton of AnchorWatch and Bitcoin developer Calle, scanned open-source repositories for flaws using a combination of artificial intelligence and human review. In just under 30 hours of operation, the team uncovered 4,962 potential issues distributed across 390 projects, with 720 classified as high or critical severity. About one-fifth of the findings have been independently verified so far.

Calle characterised the current state of security as chaotic, noting the volume of reported issues flooding the ecosystem. He reported that the group was averaging approximately one critical exploit discovery per hour per person during its initial period of work.

The security review was launched days after the Coldcard hardware wallet was compromised in an attack that resulted in the theft of over $100 million in Bitcoin.

These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
