Solana Cuts Slot Times to 200ms Following Strong September On-Chain Activity
A core latency reduction accompanied record monthly transaction numbers and expanding tokenized stock volumes on the Solana network.
Solana recorded a price increase of over 14% in September, moving above $120 for the first time since early in the first quarter and outpacing Ethereum's monthly performance. The rally coincided with a surge in network usage, with monthly transactions reaching 10.7 billion, the highest level recorded since May 2025.
Alongside transactional growth, tokenized equities expanded on the network during the month. According to data cited from Solana Hub, the total supply of tokenized stocks crossed $780.5 million, with spot trading volume hitting $4.25 billion across more than 1 million holders.
On the technical side, Solana developers reduced slot times by half, dropping from 400 milliseconds to 200 milliseconds. The reduction enables faster block creation, aiming to increase overall transaction throughput as decentralized trading and asset tokenization scale on the blockchain.
These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
