Wyoming Replaces LayerZero with Chainlink for State-Issued Stablecoin

Wyoming has removed LayerZero in favour of Chainlink to manage cross-chain transfers for its FRNT stablecoin.

· +5

The Wyoming Stable Token Commission has dropped LayerZero and selected Chainlink to secure cross-chain routing for its FRNT stablecoin across eight blockchains, which include Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, Ethereum, Hedera, Optimism, Polygon, and Solana. FRNT is the first stablecoin issued by a U.S. state and is 102% overcollateralised by U.S. Treasury bills.

Keith Lawhorn, cybersecurity head at the commission, announced the move on X on September 14 following an internal review triggered by an earlier $292 million exploit of KelpDAO linked to compromised LayerZero infrastructure. The commission stated that its audit revealed unaddressed security concerns, including private keys that remained under LayerZero's control instead of being transferred to the state, as well as inadequate disclosures regarding past security incidents.

LayerZero's leadership responded publicly shortly after the announcement, disputing the commission's allegations and sharing blockchain transaction records to defend its key management practices.

These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
