Exchange Inflows of Six- to Twelve-Month-Old Bitcoin Drop to 4.4%

On-chain data indicates that holders who bought around the 2025 peak have largely halted exchange deposits, easing immediate selling pressure.

Exchange deposits of Bitcoin aged between six and twelve months have fallen sharply, dropping to 4.4% of active coins in that cohort over the 30-day window ending October 15. According to an analysis by IT Tech published on CryptoQuant, this marks a substantial decline from mid-June, when 40.4% of moved coins in that age band—or 63,800 BTC—were sent to centralized trading platforms.

The data tracks a steady reduction across recent months: exchange inflows fell to 30.9% in the period ending July 17, reached 9.8% by mid-August, and touched a low of 3.7% in September before stabilizing near 4.4%, representing 9,100 BTC. The analyst noted that these coins are largely held by investors who bought around or after the 2025 cycle peak, a demographic historically inclined to sell at a loss during market downturns.

Despite the decline in exchange-directed transfers, overall movement among this cohort expanded. Approximately 205,400 BTC changed hands in the 30-day period ending October 15, up from 157,700 BTC in June, indicating that tokens are moving to other destinations rather than trading venues. IT Tech concluded that while the pause in selling removes downward pressure, a sustained upward move still depends on fresh buying interest that has yet to emerge.

These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
