MicroStrategy sold 1,638 BTC worth $105 million in the past week as part of its recently introduced Bitcoin monetization program designed to bolster cash reserves and support dividend payments. The sale followed a three-week period in which the firm held its position, preceded by a two-week stretch in which it sold 3,588 BTC for $216 million.

Chairman Michael Saylor noted that the company increased its dollar reserves by $250 million and repurchased $81 million worth of STRC, the firm's perpetual preferred stock that carries a 12 percent annual dividend. STRC is currently trading at $92.32, below its par value of around $100. MicroStrategy was the first public company to adopt Bitcoin as its sole treasury asset and remains the world's largest corporate holder of BTC.

The recent sales represent a significant shift in messaging from Saylor, who spent years urging investors to "never sell" Bitcoin. Saylor now clarifies that his never-sell position applied to his personal holdings only, not to MicroStrategy as a public company. According to Saylor, the firm has disclosed since 2020 that it may buy or sell Bitcoin to manage capital, and he maintains that the company's conviction in Bitcoin remains unchanged.

These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
