Bitwise Prepares Final Cash Payout for Dogecoin Fund Liquidation
The asset manager will distribute cash proceeds to BWOW fund shareholders following the closure of trading on NYSE Arca.
Bitwise is completing the wind-down of its Dogecoin fund, BWOW, with remaining shareholders set to receive a cash distribution on October 22, 2026. Trading on NYSE Arca halted on October 14, when the vehicle began liquidating its crypto holdings, with payouts calculated using the net asset value from October 21. Custodian banks are handling the distributions automatically with no required action from investors.
The liquidation leaves the US regulated investment landscape for Dogecoin with three remaining spot products. Grayscale's GDOG holds approximately $11.41 million in assets, while DOJER from EX-Osprey oversees roughly $11.12 million, alongside 21Shares' TDOG. Combined, the two reporting funds represent around $22.5 million, accounting for roughly 0.18% of Dogecoin's total market capitalization of $12.56 billion.
Bitwise stated in regulatory disclosures that the closure reflects continuous efforts to align its product roster with shifting client demand. Dogecoin's spot price showed little reaction to the fund's exit, trading around $0.0803 following the cessation of fund trading.
These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
