Solana treasury company DeFi Development Corp. has initiated dividend payouts on its CHAD preferred stock, offering a 13% annual yield on a $10 stated amount. The firm, listed under the ticker DFDV, distributed its initial dividend payment on October 1, 2026, following the shares' original September issuance at $8 each.

The 13% preferred dividend represents approximately $1.30 per share per year, which significantly outpaces the 6% to 7% yield typically generated from staked Solana. DeFi Development operates a $300 million at-the-market offering for CHAD, allowing continuous incremental share sales.

Unlike fixed-rate corporate preferreds, CHAD features a variable rate that management can adjust downward by up to half a percentage point at a time. The capital structure draws inspiration from Bitcoin holder Strategy Inc., whose chief executive's approach was described by DeFi Development's leadership as the foundational model for digital asset treasuries.

These two are not the same thing, and one does not produce the other. The left is how this single article reads, from its tone alone. The right is the site’s own call on the asset, from indicators and analysis. Press tone feeds no score and no signal: on the only corpus this site has measured, daily tone tracked the move that had already happened and showed no measurable link with what followed.
